— Concerts with my music —
On Friday, November 24, 2017 there was a memorable concert in the concert church in the small town of Rijsselt, next to Eefde and Zutphen in the Netherlands. It was a jubilee concert for and by soprano / singing teacher Ivette van Laar - known for the role as Queen of the Night from Mozart's Magic Flute at the Nederlandse Reisopera.
The concert was given for the jubilee of Ivette van Laar as an independent singer / teacher.
One of the pieces played there was The End (see here on this site), where Ivette van Laar not only sang the solo part but also directed the ensemble. The accompaniment was provided by musicians from the Orkest van Amsterdam. The choir consisted of advanced students of the soloist.
The not so mean achievement - combining solo and direction - was achieved by her with great enthusiasm.
For me it was very moving. Not in the last place because different listeners thanked me - as an invited guest - for my beautiful music!
